Parker School will host Kahiau, its 10th annual auction gala on March 7, at the Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. All proceeds from the event go towards financial aid at the school. The Hawaiian word kahiau means “to give generously from the heart,” and every year Parker puts on the gala so people can come together to provide educational opportunities for Hawaii children.

Attendees will enjoy a sit-down dinner and have the opportunity to bid on hundreds of silent and live auction items such as: an authentic Niihau shell lei; Las Vegas Showstopper VIP Package; Nanea, Hokulia and Kohanaiki golf package; a private helicopter tour, landing for dinner at Kahua Ranch; gorgeous original oil painting by Bev Fettig; morning outrigger canoe adventure to a secluded beach with catered meal; stays at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle and the Fairmont Banff Springs in Canada; artwork by Lisa Greenwell Hummel, Joshua W. Miles, Harry Wishard, and Cora Yee and many other artists; private pupu party for 20 catered by Lisa Vann of The Fish and The Hog with entertainment by comedian Kona Kozy; plus jewelry, health, fitness and spa packages, fine dining experiences, and much more.
Guests can also participate in activities such as “First Bidder Frenzy” in which they will have the opportunity to win a private chef’s dinner for four at Lava Lava Beach Club, and “Bubbly &Bling,” for the chance to receive beautiful sapphire and diamond earrings custom designed for Kahiau by Simply for Fun jewelry company.
Parker School was established in 1976 in Waimea and today serves over 300 K-12 students, providing them with a world-class college-preparatory education. Nearly 50 percent of Parker students receive financial aid, and Kahiau, the school’s largest fundraiser of the year, is key in making this possible.
